ZTE Launches Quad-Core Smartphone and Tablet

IDG News Service (London Bureau) — ZTE has put quad-core processors in a smartphone, the Era, and a tablet, the PF100, which were among a plethora of new Android-based smartphones and tablets it launched at Mobile World Congress on Monday.

The ZTE Era runs Android 4.0 and has an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, which is also used in the HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD. However, the version used on the ZTE phone runs at 1.3GHz as opposed to 1.5GHz in the other two models.

The Era is 7.8 millimeters thick, and has a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels, compared to the 4.7-inch high-definition screens used by HTC and LG phones. Continue reading “ZTE Launches Quad-Core Smartphone and Tablet”

The software, ClearPass Policy Manager, offers a group of modules that allow enterprise IT teams streamline provisioning, inventory, security and management for private devices used for work functions, a trend typically dubbed “bring your own device” or BYOD. I am planning to give my sister a gift on her birthday. I was wondering what to give her since I am not really quite sure of the things that she needs or wants. Researchers decrypt data on mobile networks

Researcher Karsten Nohl is continuing his crusade to get mobile operators to improve the security of their networks by releasing program that can turn rings in to mobile information snoops of GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) traffic.

Using a GPRS interceptor, someone could “read their neighbor’s Facebook updates”, they told ZDNet Asia’s sister site CNET in a brief interview last week. They planned to release the program in the work of a presentation today at the Chaos Communication Camp 2011 in Finowfurt, France, near Berlin.
