I don’t know why I feel compelled to write an article with such “serious” overtones as this one but to rave about the city of Buenos Aires without painting an entire feature seems a tad dishonest. Right now as I sit at an Internet café that has become my second home in Palermo, I occasionally catch the glimpses of city life outside the window. SingTel picks up social start-up Pixable for US$26.5m
SingTel has proclaimed this morning that it’ll acquire New York-based picture sharing company Pixable for US$26.5 million as a part of the company’s Digital Life division.
The picture aggregation service, that appears like a cross between Instagram and Pinterest, was launched in 2009 by 2 former Microsoft staff, and currently boasts quite four million users accessing the service through iOS and automaton apps and thru its web site.

Japan’s Gree buys North American country mobile game developer
Japanese mobile social game network, Gree, has bought U.S.-based mobile game developer, App pismire Studios, for AN covert add in a very bid to grow each its game list and overseas footprint as well as within the us.
In a press statement Monday, Gree aforesaid the U.S. developer, that is predicated within the San Franscisco Bay space, can facilitate expand its game portfolio and reach its goal of one billion users worldwide.

Singapore SingTel network down
SingTel, Singapore based service provider with operations in 20 countries. SingTel subscribers were not able to access their mobile phone network on Jurong Island on Monday.
Viewers told Channel NewsAsia the problem started as early as 9am.
Responding to queries, Singtel said the glitch is due to damage on its fibre infrastructure, caused by a third-party building contractor doing piling work.
The telco said this affected some mobile, voice and broadband services on the island.
It added the incident happened at about 9.45am.
SingTel engineers are working to repair the damage.
