The E2500 is the third Linksys router true dual-band of the new E-Series, Cisco after the 450Mbps high-end E4200 and E3200 Gigabit Ethernet. Compared with the specifications of both the E2500 is less because it has Gigabit Ethernet, 450Mbps Wi-Fi standard and a USB port to accommodate an external hard drive. But it is much cheaper, only about $ 70.
In our tests, the Linksys E2500 is in fact a lot more behind the other two in terms of throughput and range. As with other routers, it is very easy to use, gives thanks to the support of Cisco Connect it to any Series E Cisco. It is also more compact than the other two.
This lack of coverage and relatively low performance, particularly on the 2.4 GHz band, an appropriate only for small areas, such as a dorm or apartment. The fact that the router does not support Gigabit Ethernet, it’s not an ideal choice for those who want a fast cable operators, either. Instead, it is better suited for the exchange over the Internet.
