Juniper Networks to acquire SMobile Systems

Juniper Networks plans to acquire wireless security firm SMobile for about U.S. $ 70,000,000 cash, the companies announced Tuesday.

The network equipment maker Juniper said it plans to integrate SMobile portfolio of security software for smartphones and tablets at Junos software Pulse, offering connectivity, security and acceleration for smartphones, netbooks, notebooks and tablets.

“Juniper and ensures the most traffic of mobile phones in the United States, is a world leader in servers, high-end security and SSL VPN (2) of the market, allowing more than 25 million end users so remotely and securely connect their PCs and smart phones to corporate networks, “said Mark Bauhaus, executive vice president and general manager of Service Layer Technologies at Juniper Networks. “The integration of the portfolio in Junos Press SMobile provide users with comprehensive security solution available in the mobile market.”

The companies did not say when the agreement is close.

Juniper is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, and SMobile is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
