Juniper to purchase Trapeze Networks for $152m

Juniper Networks Inc. and Belden have reached a definitive agreement under which Juniper will acquire Trapeze Networks for about $ 152 million. The completion of the acquisition is expected in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The acquisition of Trapeze Networks, a manufacturer of WLAN systems and management software, will expand the portfolio of Juniper and make a WLAN infrastructure of key business areas.

“With the acquisition of Trapeze Networks, we extend our industry-leading routing, security and switching portfolio of proven and innovative WLAN technology to enable our customers to provide a seamless, high quality, safe experience to their users, regardless of where and how to access your network, “said David Yen, executive vice president and general manager of fabric and switching technologies at Juniper Networks.

According to Juniper, WiFi is free for campus and branch change, routing and security companies.

“Strong performance history of Juniper technology combined with the Trapeze team manages the company ideally positioned to offer high-performance networks from end to end for the world’s most demanding networks,” said Yen.

Juniper now be able to build new networks of customers based on their end to end routing, security, wired and wireless switching infrastructure.

Trapeze Networks products including antennas and accessories, software based on location and equipment, and the mobility of the system software, a complete line of mobility exchange controllers, access points, Mobility Point, a product of advanced access control, SmartPass, and RingMaster management suite of wireless.
