Juniper lands according to the Saudi ministry network

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is set to build a high-performance network infrastructure based data center switching, routing and security solutions from Juniper.

MCIT has selected vendors to create the infrastructure platform for the whole country of the Kingdom of e-government project ‘Yesser’, which is designed to allow various government departments that interact with each other and citizens online.

MCIT is responsible for the implementation and IT management and network-based services throughout the Kingdom, including outreach activities, digital and telephony.

Alkhiary Ahmad, deputy general director said MCIT e-Government initiative is designed to increase productivity and efficiency of public sector in Saudi Arabia.

“With the introduction of services through electronic transactions, we may use information technology to its best advantage, and also to control costs,” he said. “The Juniper Networks solution to MCIT reduce the cost and complexity of our network of data centers, offering a dynamic, flexible, automated, without sacrificing performance.”

MCIT has chosen Juniper EX4200 series Ethernet switches with Virtual Chassis technology fabric to provide high availability hosting services in the data center and between its agencies.

Services J-series routers will be installed as a display of power standardize the provision of services and provide stability and efficiency of all agencies and the central site. In addition, Juniper M-series multiservice edge routers will be deployed to provide advanced routing with carrier-class reliability for high-performance network.

Various security solutions of networks and gateways will also be used in the deployment, which is set to be conducted by a local partner of Juniper Mobily.

Juniper did not disclose the value of the project.
