SINGAPORE – To mark the country’s first Awareness Day on Cybersecurity, local government, industry and the online community have come together to renew their commitment to cultivate a secure Web environment.
Held here today with the Seminar of Information Security, the event is sponsored by the Cyber Security Awareness Alliance, established in April 2008 to increase online awareness and push for greater accountability of users, such the adoption of stronger passwords. The group led by the government with industry bodies, government agencies and market players, such as the Land Transport Authority, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore Police, Hewlett-Packard, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Microsoft, Symantec and Trend Micro.
Driving the maxim “Go online safely,” said the alliance has received more than 300. 000 items, through its portal of awareness, members of the online community, public and private sectors to commemorate the Day of Awareness for changing your password to improve security.
