Juniper and VMware Collaborat​e with IBM on New Private Cloud Reference Architectu​re

More and more server and storage vendors are starting to deliver turnkey solutions or reference architectures combined with server virtualization software of VMware and Hyper-V. Most are marketed as private cloud solutions which can be quickly deployed.

There is VCE with vBlocks, NetApp FlexPod , Dell vStart and now there is IBM which collaborates with VMware and Juniper in a new reference configuration which enables mid market clients to quickly deploy a departmental, entry cloud solution. The solution is build using IBM server, IBM iSCSI storage, Juniper switches and VMware vSphere. Juniper: Mobile Malware Increased 155% in 2011

Malware permeated the mobile ecosystem in 2011. the problem isn’t going away either. Juniper, Polycom forge alliance

Juniper Networks and Polycom have teamed on a joint telepresence and videoconferencing offering that’s designed to serve as a counterweight to Cisco Systems and its recent acquisition of Tandberg.

In a statement Monday, Juniper and Polycom said they will optimize their platforms so service providers can offer video and telepresence cheaply. The argument: it’s cheaper for enterprises to deploy telepresence as a service from their network providers instead of building out their own networks.

Beware hidden costs in public cloud adoption

Public cloud computing vendors can push costs offers a high degree of standardization and the ability to provide a common pool of processing resources with many systems and customers to share. However, companies must also be considered when managing the hidden costs of cloud service integration with legacy information systems equipment and staff to these services.

After Errol Rasit, principal analyst at Gartner, customers need the capacity, the cost of providing local service, to measure how to make an informed decision on public cloud services is available. Juniper enhances edge routers for multimedia

Juniper this week announced enhancements to its edge router to the provider of services designed to improve the delivery of multimedia services to users.

Extensions are packaged applications and services for routers to reduce the performance and cost with the support of existing measures to help them.

One is its high gateway, which integrates the session border control signaling and media gateway functions for the software, intrusion prevention, firewall and IPsec services. To help service providers to avoid increasing costs for the implementation of several specific services such as drivers session border device to reduce power consumption and scalability, Juniper said.
