Get Cisco Used-Equipment at a Great Cost, Or Sell Yours

Cisco Systems has been known to be synonymous with a quality that is higher than other networking hardware so much that other businesses have incorporated this hardware into their network. The Cisco brand features a lengthy product lifetime and is a great investment as it can be sold again as a means to reimburse a part of the initial cost. The Cisco brand offers many types of hardware, the most popular would be the Cisco memory and Cisco cables.

Companies have many reasons surrounding why they discard of similar hardware so regularly. Redundant equipment no longer functions as it should, making its salvaged or recycled raw materials equivalent to small sums of cash. Many companies are however opting to either upgrade or downsize the business and in this case, the hardware they sell is still functioning quite well even if it isn’t needed as an important aspect of the network.

A safe and easy way to purchase any type of used Cisco hardware is on the secondary market. Vendors are spread across the country offering clients discounts and warranties on their products. It is simple for orders to be filled and packages boxed rapidly since most companies house their inventory. Distance is the only deciding factor, where the shipping charge may add a heftier sum on the bill the farther away it is.

Locating a company that is just right can be made easier by searching in any one of the many search engines available on the Internet. These search engines make it easier to locate a manufacturer that is closer to you than the other branches.

Instead of inserting ‘buy used Cisco cables’ or ‘buy used Cisco memory’ as your search guidelines, you can modify it to search by a geo-specific keyword like ‘Florida’ or ‘fl’. You will, therefore, be able to locate a number of companies located in that region that supply used Cisco hardware. This helps to decrease the shipping cost and time it takes to reach you. Search engines like Yahoo allow you to do a general search and then further filter it into companies near you. To take advantage of this feature you will need to have a Yahoo account.

Vendors who specialize in this type of technology offer full-service settlement services in order to manage all areas of the buying process. This helps to decrease the sellers’ effort. Liquidation services are good choices for business that carry a lot of hardware that are constantly being shipped. Instead of locating clients who want to purchase maybe one or two pieces, then sourcing a salvage yard who can recycle the equipment, companies are able to work with one contact who manages the transportation, valuation and logistics of all the products. This gives you ample time to concentrate on your revenue-producing products like Cisco Memory and Cisco cables.

The time it takes a company to make an offer and provide full payment from your initial contact with them depends on the size and type of lot they own. Some distribute a quotation and accept a down payment in about 48 hours. The final offer depends on the condition, model, make and current demand of the used hardware but the process takes about 5 working days to the maximum of 2 weeks. Make sure to be completely secure and comfortable in the company of your choosing. Be sure to do all the research needed in order to receive a good value for all your extra used Cisco equipment .

Used Cisco: What to Look For, What to Avoid

It is important to use the difference between the type of equipment before buying, especially the difference between soft (or renovated), and “as is” equipment used to make himself understood.

Used IT equipment that are sold “as is”:

* Has been retired from service for a serious shortcoming.
* Will be sold without anything being done to improve it.
* If not accompanied by any guarantee.
* Do not probably work most of the time.

To avoid all that is to recommend the equipment for your business.

Used Cisco equipment is remarketed as “gently” used or “refurbished”

* Surplus equipment often or returned under warranty for a variety of reasons.
* Is this related to “Class A” or “like new”.
* If the application thoroughly inspected and tested upon receipt.
* If carefully handed over to default configurations or specifications.
* Comes with a standard warranty full replacement and extended warranty options.
* If that news can work in any network.

Many companies make the mistake, getting caught in the price / cost debate. They confuse the difference between the low purchase price and low cost of ownership. Implies a rapid, short-term profits, while the other offers long-term returns. A company / upgraded smoothly used equipment requires the creation of an outlet valve of their budget. Buyers and users of used Cisco equipment has used the report savings up to 90 percent compared to the price list when buying products.

It is obviously important, with one of the leading manufacturers such as purchasing IT NSR device used to work. to look not only for the lowest price and ignore the factor of trust: it may probably end up being more over time. Beware of products that are much better of a player compared to others, and always check each received low-ball quote. Ask questions about confusing terms and talk to a real person on the phone, if possible.

Hardware Used in Storage Backup and Recovery

This article mainly related with storage backup and recovery. It describes what are all the hardware’s used in the storage backup and recovery technologies. So many hardware components used in the Storage Backup areas. It is not the article to bring out the functionalities of that hardware parts. It gives the information and related technical details of that hardware used in the storage backup and recovery technology.

There are three main important hardware’s are used in the storage backup and recovery technology. They are Server, Subsystems and Switches. Each one has its own hardware parts. Let’s see the information and technical details of this hardware parts.

Server Master Server

The Master server performs all Backup administrative functions and controls the backup scheduling for each media server. The requirements needed for Master Server,

· Processors

· Memory

· I/O Connectivity

· Operating System

· Backup Software

Media Server

The media server performs the backup operations under the direction of the master, with all backup data stored locally on the media server and its respective storage devices. The same above Master Server requirements are applicable to Media Server also.

DAS, SAN, NAS Storage Subsystems

Direct attached storage (DAS), storage area network (SAN), and network-attached storage (NAS) are the three basic types of storage subsystems used in Storage backup hardware management. DAS is the basic building block in a storage system, and it can be employed directly or indirectly when used inside SAN and NAS systems. NAS is the highest layer of storage and can be built on top of a SAN or DAS storage system. SAN is somewhere between a DAS and a NAS.

Hardware used in the Storage subsystem

SCSI

It is abbreviated like Small Computer System Interface. It is the famous storage subsystem component used in all medium and small level computer interfaces. A mechanism called ‘Cable Sharing’ used here. It can support the data transfer rate up to 320 MB/s.

PATA

Parallel Advanced technology Attachment is shortly named as PATA. It can support data transfer up to 133 MB/s. Nowadays SATA replaces this PATA in all areas. But the recent version UDMA133 is used in some subsystems depends upon the customer requirement.

SATA

Serial Advanced Technology Attachment is commonly known as SATA. It is the very common hard disk interface used in all personal systems. One SATA port permits one device to connect to it.

SAS

It means Serial Attached SCSI. The name itself tells, it can be seen as a merged SCSI and SATA interface. It has various data transfer rates like 185, 374, 750, and 1,500 MB/s. SATA devices can connect to SAS but SAS devices can’t connect with SATA ports. It is specifically designed for the high-end servers. SAS offers the best of SCSI and SATA.

FC

Fibre Channel has a main advantage of its length. It works the same like SATA, but it can covers the distance up to 2kms (Example: Single Mode Fibre). FC offers speeds of 100, 200, and 400 MB/s.

iSCSI

Internet SCSI is shortly known as iSCSI. It is normally used in all LANs. It is Low-cost alternative to FC. Easier to manage because it uses the common TCP/IP protocol and common Ethernet switches.

AoE

ATA over Ethernet. It is a very low cost alternative to iSCSI. It encapsulates ATA commands into low-level Ethernet frames and avoids using TCP/IP. A lot of add-on initiator/target software will support both iSCSI and AoE.

Ethernet Switches

A switch is something that is used to turn on or off various electronic devices. However, in computer networking, a switch is used to connect multiple computers with each other. Since it is an external device it becomes part of the hardware peripherals used in the operation of storage backup and recovery. This connection has done within an existing Local Area network (LAN) only and is identical to an Ethernet hub in terms of appearance except with more intelligence. These switches not only receive data packets, but also have the ability to inspect them before passing them on to the next computer. That is, they can figure out the source, the contents of the data, and identify the destination as well. Because of this uniqueness; it sends the data to the relevant connected system only, thereby using less bandwidth at high performance rates. Ethernet switches were used to provide connections and link aggregation between the backup clients, media servers, and master server using network speeds of 100 Mb/sec, 1 Gb/sec, and 10 Gb/sec.

SAN Switches

SAN switches were used to provide Fibre Channel connections between the Backup media servers and the tape libraries. The below listed companies are working with SAN switches worldwide.

Used Cisco

It is not true that quality can only be experienced from products that are brand new. Take a used Cisco for example. A used Cisco switch works in the same way as that or a brand new one. Aside from that, a used Cisco costs cheaper, thus, making it a wiser option. The important thing when buying a used Cisco is to find the right market and seller.

Typically, buying a used Cisco hardware is very challenging thing to do. Although the secondary market is always a good place to find used IT equipment and components like a used Cisco, it is still not wise to just blindly trust a reseller out of the blue. You can’t just pick a used Cisco reseller and decide to buy at once.

You should remember that a used Cisco is considered an investment on your part thus you should be extra careful. The main idea in buying a used Cisco is that it should be able to provide benefits to the company in the long run.

You should do thorough research when looking for a good used Cisco. Ideally, you should be able to ask several questions to the reseller to make sure that you are indeed buying a quality used Cisco. A good used Cisco reseller should have a good track record. You should be able to find out where the reseller’s supply comes from and does he or she follow standard measures when selling used products.

A good reseller also provides a good customer service and even offers product warranties. A product warranty is very important. It can guarantee your money back given that the product is not functioning well. Make sure to ask around and do a thorough research before purchasing the item. This can help avoid future troubles.
