Verizon Wireless will introduce tablet Cius Cisco network for its fast mobile broadband LTE in the spring of 2011, and the companies also offer LTE interfaces for second-generation Cisco Integrated Services Router for medium small and medium size.
Cisco announced the tablet Cius company last year and plans to begin shipping in March. Verizon will be the first operator to sell the IIC, the companies announced Thursday at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Verizon LTE (Long Term Evolution) network, launched in 37 markets in December, is now available to a third of the U.S. population, according to Verizon.
The IIC will Verizon’s 3G capability as well, to the connectivity of users can not LTE.
The Cius use the Google Android operating system and is designed to run Cisco collaboration applications, including video and other forms of communication and other applications for Android. It has a touch screen 7-inch diagonal and includes Wi-Fi, and the ability of mobile broadband.
LTE interfaces for Cisco ISR (Integrated Services Router) will allow enterprises to run bandwidth-intensive applications in places where cable Internet connections are not convenient or not available, opening the door to possibilities such as video ability of ATMs and kiosks in retail, the companies said in a press release.
ISR platform is designed as a networking platform all-in-one for small and medium businesses and remote offices, with slots for a variety of modules for different functions. Has already offered with 3G interfaces for remote access or Internet failover.
